How can we expect the @linuxfoundation to give a damn - and invest in - #gnu #linux desktop when its chief uses a "Mac" PC?

@schestowitz Honestly, for a company like Microsoft it would take decades to embrace or simple like free software. They did too much damage. I don't think we will see a free software friendly Microsoft in our lifetime (if ever).

My favourite #opensource creative tools are probably:
#FocusWriter - Qt based stylable creative writing app.
#Krita - best illustration app ever made.
#Kdenlive - awesome videoeditor and getting better by the day.
#Audacity - easy to use sound editing. (Kwave come back though!)
#Blender - best 3D tool out there that I still try to learn.

Found this neat tool called smb4k which makes mounting SMB shares in KDE almost as easy as using GVFS.

@jookia I started with #RedHat / #Mandrake, moved onto #Ubuntu, tried vanilla #Debian then found #Trisquel. Natural evolution ;)

Expensive tools aren't the only option for graphic design (and never were) #FOSS

Many graphic designers work with expensive #proprietary software because they believe they have to, and it has to be #Adobe. But this is not so: There are many fine professional-quality open source #graphics applications out there.

The apps may take a bit of time to learn how to use them really effectively but today we do have YouTube tutorials and many blogs that explain how to do this.
