I have this beautiful plant in a jar on my bookshelf, but I’m not quite sure just what she is. Would anyone mind helping me figure it out?

@rynras my guess would be pothos but there are many tropicals that look similar. Looks like it's ready for some soil!

@pixelpaperyarn @rynras Yep, pothos and philodendrons look kind of alike, but if you look them up online there are several sites that point out the differences so you can tell what you have. It's definitely one of them.

@rynras looks like devil's ivy to me. My mom had one indoor pothos for 17 years that we made into many other babies and gave out for gifts to everyone when they got new homes :blobaww:

Yeah, I agree with the others here. The patterning on the leaves looks like pothos (epipremnum aureum) aka “Devil’s Ivy”. A very easy plant to care for, tolerant to low light and occasional lack of water, which loves to grow into long trailing vines. Consider finding it a home in a hanging basket or on top of a bookshelf when it gets bigger. 💚

@InvaderXan Would I be able to keep it in the water (maybe putting it in a bigger container), or should I transfer it to soil?

I’m pretty sure they’ll grow happily in either. If I remember right, they even grow different kinds of roots in water and soil. So it’s entirely up to you. 🙂

Just remember to occasionally give it a few drops of nitrogen rich fertiliser either way.
