@deadsuperhero First, look up a psychologist, not a therapist.  No, really - a therapist can be someone with a 1 year liberal arts degree, they're not someone you want with any significant mental problems.  I would actually recommend speaking with your general practitioner the next time you see them as they will have an idea of the specialists in your area and who would be best equipped to help you.

@maiyannah @deadsuperhero It depends on the state. My wife is an art therapist and holds a Master's degree. But many states won't license art therapists are all.

@peroty @deadsuperhero the worst experience in my professional life as a psychologist was trying to put someone back together who was really genuinely screwewd up by a unlicensed therapist so I will admit I have some considerable bias there.
@deadsuperhero Ask around or maybe go to AA or some other selfhelp group's meetings and ask the participants.
