It'd be kind of neat if #MediaGoblin could federate different activity types between PixelFed, PeerTube, Funkwhale, and microblogging apps. It would demonstrate how different platforms could pick and choose what activities were being rendered.
@deadsuperhero And this is the future SciFi I watched and read as a kid. Things just working together can be a reality. Sad that capitalism has the world so obsessed with proprietary formats and IP.
I am surprised more economics experts and biz analysts haven't investigated the opportunities for profit that might arise from an open model. Facebook didn't get all of its users after it closed its API. But hey, what do I know.
