@kaniini I also like the notion of organizations hosting their own forges. Gnome is currently doing that with their own instance of Gitlab, and KDE uses Phabricator.

For an organizational umbrella, this approach totally makes sense, and probably entrenches the community to work within its own umbrella on old and new projects.

If these things would just get proper federation support (using agreed-upon conventions), then cross-pollination between these different code forges could be interesting

An Elixir/ActivityPub Git platform would be very attractive, even if it's only regarded as a reference implementation for established players to refer to. ๐Ÿ˜›
