All games are games. Judge each on quality and technical skill, accounting for limitations and purposes of the platform.

Well I believe that 'walking simulators' like Gone Home etc are in the line between games and art. There are interactive art exhibits that are gamier games.
@TheDistinction @OldandConfused I see the gameplay element in games like Gone Home or Dear Esther isn't in the mechanics but in the player's head as they piece together the mystery of what's happening. Or in Gone Home's case the overall timeline of events to do with the uncle and your father.
@TheDistinction @Nezchan I definitely view walking sims as games. Or as walking games. If people want games to be possibly viewed as art, saying a game is more like an artistic expression than a game seems counter productive to me. But I am not an intellectual. I play a lot of them and they usually amuse me, so they are games.
